Concluding its two-week session today, the second United Nations conference to review the 2001 Programme of Action on trafficking in small arms and light weapons adopted a consensus outcome document that highlighted the international community’s renewed commitment to preventing, combating and eradicating the illicit trade.

The document’s adoption represented a major achievement for delegations, who had failed to agree on a final outcome at the first review conference, held in 2006. “We accomplished something great today,” said U. Joy Ogwu ( Nigeria), President of the Conference, formally known as the United Nations Conference to Review Progress Made in the Implementation of the Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects.

According to the text, Member States renewed their pledge to rid the world of the scourge brought upon it by the illicit manufacture, transfer and circulation of small arms and light weapons, and their excessive accumulation and uncontrolled spread in many parts of the world. They also committed to mobilizing the necessary political will and resources to implement the Programme of Action and the International Tracing Instrument, with the aim of achieving clear and tangible results over the next six years, through 2018.

Further by the text, States emphasized that the illicit trade in small arms and light weapons continued to sustain conflicts, exacerbate armed violence, undermine respect for international humanitarian law and international human rights law, aid terrorism and illegal armed groups, and facilitate increasing levels of transnational organized crime, as well as trafficking in humans, drugs and certain natural resources.

Monsanto, one of the biggest biotech companies in the world, isn’t that okay with efforts to pass the bill, though. They have so far donated hundreds of millions of dollars towards a campaign established to stop the bill, No on 37. But in the latest incident to unfold in the saga, Monsanto isn’t exactly offering suggestions to come to a compromise either.

According to the New York Times, Monsantor Director of Corporate Communications Phil Angel said, ”Monsanto should not have to vouch for the safety of biotech food. Our interest is in selling as much of it as possible. Assuring its safety is the FDA’s job.”

The FDA, on the other hand, disagrees. California Progress Report reveals that, on the record, the Food and Drug Administration insists, “Ultimately, it is the food producer who is responsible for assuring safety.”

Poland Announces Complete Ban on Monsanto’s Genetically Modified Maize

Following the anti-Monsanto activism launched by nations like France and Hungary, Poland has announced that it will launch a complete ban on growing Monsanto’s genetically modified strain MON810. The announcement, made by Agriculture Minister Marek Sawicki, sets yet another international standard against Monsanto’s genetically modified creations. In addition to being linked to a plethora health ailments, Sawicki says that the pollen originating from this GM strain may actually be devastating the already dwindling bee population.

“The decree is in the works. It introduces a complete ban on the MON810 strain of maize in Poland,” Sawicki stated to the press.

Similar opposition to Monsanto occurred on March 9th, when 7 European countries blocked a proposal by the Danish EU presidency which would permit the cultivation of genetically modified plants on the entire continent. It was France, who in February, lead the charge against GMOs by asking the European Commission to suspend authorization to Monsanto’s genetically modified corn. What’s more, the country settled a landmark case in favor of the people over Monsanto, finding the biotech giant guilty of chemical poisoning.

Here's a predicament: you don't want the government using high-tech face scanning technology to track every inch of your walk to the post office, but you also don't want to take a sledgehammer to your neighborhood surveillance camera. What do you do?

Don't worry, concerned citizen! Big Brother may indeed be watching, but that doesn't mean you have to make his unwarranted surveillance mission easy to operate.

Although little news has developed as of late in regards to TrapWire, a global surveillance operation that RT blew the cover off of nearly two weeks ago, opposition waged at the world-wide intelligence network is still rampant. Now in one of the newest videos uploaded to the Web to make people aware of TrapWire, a person claiming to be involved with Anonymous is trying to spread a YouTube clip that offers helpful suggestions on how to rage against the machine, properly and peacefully.

Last week, hacktivists proposed several campaigns aimed at eliminating TrapWire feeds by rendering the equipment thought to be linked to the intelligence system completely useless. In lieu of smashing camera lenses and spraying surveillance gear in sudsy liquid, though, a new video, "Anonymous -- Fighting TrapWire," offers instructions on how to prevent the acceleration of the surveillance state by means of passive resistant.

"Many of you have heard the recent stories about TrapWire," the video begins. "Constant video surveillance is an issue we presently face. However, there are a number of ways that you can combat this surveillance."

From there, the clip's narrator offers a few suggestions and helping the average American avoid getting caught in TrapWire without resorting to the destruction of property.

"Wearing a mask is a common way to keep your identity hidden," the voice explains, "However, a mask does not protect against biometric authentication. In addition, this can also cause problems depending where you want to go."

"Another way to avoid facial recognition is to tilt your head more than 15 degrees to the side," the clip continues. "Due to limits in their programming, they will not be able to detect that a face is present, though there are very obvious cons to doing this. Using a similar method, you can distort your face through elaborate makeup. This method also takes advantage of software limits as the computer will not be able to detect a face. But these are tiresome ways that tend to draw attention to yourself. Surely there are better solutions to avoid being added to a database."

The narrator also explains that laser pointers have been documented to disrupt the powers of surveillance cameras and that, "With nothing more than a hat, some infrared LEDs, some wiring and a 9 Volt battery," it's a piece of cake to render oneself completely invisible. By rigging a DIY system of small lights affixed to a baseball cap, the video claims you can create a device that "guarantees complete anonymity to cameras while appearing perfectly normal to the rest of the world."

"While the government may be hell bent on watching us at every moment of every day, we are not helpless. There are always ways of fighting back. Let's remind them that 1984 was not an instruction manual," the video concludes.

McCallister, an oil industry insider with House of Saud connections, wrote in The Grim Reaper that information he acquired from Saudi bankers cited 80% ownership of the New York Federal Reserve Bank- by far the most powerful Fed branch- by just eight families, four of which reside in the US. They are the Goldman Sachs, Rockefellers, Lehmans and Kuhn Loebs of New York; the Rothschilds of Paris and London; the Warburgs of Hamburg; the Lazards of Paris; and the Israel Moses Seifs of Rome.

The control that these banking families exert over the global economy cannot be overstated and is quite intentionally shrouded in secrecy. Their corporate media arm is quick to discredit any information exposing this private central banking cartel as "conspiracy theory". Yet the facts remain. The Federal Reserve Bank was born in 1913, the same year US banking scion J. Pierpont Morgan died and the Rockefeller Foundation was formed. Since average progressives don't fall into these categories, they seem happy to call for the destruction of their rights in the land of the free. Much like most Americans went along with the USA PATRIOT Act after 9/11 because they were told only foreign Muslims would be spied on and indefinitely detained without charges. Only after the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) did Americans realize that these tactics were actually intended for domestic civilians.

Now that their beloved Peace-Prize president is openly providing support to Al Qaeda, first in Libya and now in Syria, it was imperative to redirect the vast anti-terrorism apparatus to a credible new enemy. Right-wing extremists fit the bill perfectly, as they have been predictably programmed to take on that role for some time.

After numerous thwarted "lone wolf" terrorist plots were proven to be FBI patsies and the Fast and Furious government gun-running scandal was proven to be staged to attack gun rights, whoever is coordinating these sinister plots needed real blood to move their agenda forward.

Win one for our side. The UN is nothing but an organization that drains the dollar$ from the USA and tries to bring US down to their level of control, lack of freedom and economic disaster. We need to just forget about it as it has never been functional and just a means to ask for and receive billion$ of our tax dollars; much of it to support dictators, corrupt 'officials' in impoverished countries and the like. Much of the 'food' we supply is never delivered to the desperate people because the elitists and the military regimes confiscate it or sell it. I am so very sorry for those who suffer, but until THEY rise up and overthrow their oppressive rulers, there is really little we can do except support their efforts (arms, food and money), mostly covertly. As I have previously pointed out, this proposal goes even further then the now expired 1994 to 2004 Federal “Assault Weapons Ban“, in that it bans the manufacture, sale, transfer or possession of these legal firearms accessories if the Cyber Bill with Schumers Amendment becomes law, unless one owned them prior to the date the law would take effect.

No mention is made of how exactly a law-abiding Citizen would be required to prove they owned such items prior to an arbitrary date. People don’t generally keep receipts for such things for very long, if at all. So, if the worst came to pass and the magazine ban becomes law, will 10′s of millions of law-abiding Citizens be forced to destroy or turn in their lawfully purchased and legally owned property simply because they can’t prove when they acquired it?

So, we finally get to the heart of that which chaps the CFR’s behind, and the primary reason the article was written: Domestic opposition to U.S. participation in the UN treaty.

Government opposition to the treaty is not what worries the UN. Barack Obama will sign the accord in a heartbeat and salivate while doing it. What does concern the globalists is the fact that so many Americans, millions of them, are largely against the proposition. This fact, in itself, is very revealing of their true intentions.

Why is it that, though the UN has clear support from our President and our Secretary of State, they are so adamant about public support and acceptance? Senate ratification may become a stumbling bloc, but their arguments do not address the senate; they address us as citizens. Why is the CFR so concerned with convincing us that the treaty is “harmless”? If the treaty is going to be signed regardless of what we feel, and if it is truly not a threat to our rights, then why not simply pass the resolution, and show us through action that our right to own firearms is not under threat? Why are the UN and the CFR so interested in manufacturing our consent?
